*This is the 2nd in a series of posts about a blogging conference that I went to in NYC in July. the conference was called Blogger Bash and it was a series of parties.
Blogger Bash: Sweet Suite
Two weeks ago I got into my car at 3:30 am to catch a 6:00 am ride from Washington DC to New York City so that I could attend Blogger Bash. If you had told me what I was in for over the next 24 hours at that point I would have thought you were lying. There is no way I could have know what I was about to experience.
Once I got checked in to my hotel (5 hours early mind you – 10 pleases and lots of batting eyelashes got me in), I took a stroll around and found that I was only a few blocks from the event space. So even though I was early I headed in to say hello. I ended up staying for a few hours helping and making Starbuck runs for the people running the event. Around 2 pm I headed back to the hotel to find my roommate and get ready for the main event – Sweet Suite.
We headed back to Location 05 around 5 pm. We arrived to the sounds of the actual Kidz Bop kids singing! What a great way to start the night. Those kids can actually sing too!
We made our name tags using all of the amazing Crayola products that were set up for us.
The area was set up with all kinds of brands with toys and games set up for us to actually play with! We knew in a moment that this was going to be fun.
Our first stop was the Rooibee Red Tea lounge. Seriously one of my favorite drinks. We stopped and chatted with them while I complained about not being able to get Rooibee Red Tea where I live. The closest store is 50 miles away! But they were able to let me know that Roobiee Red Tea can now be ordered online!
Our next stop was at the Tiggly Shapes booth where we got all silly with the shapes. Of course I had to use the mustache.
Speaking of dressing up we had the chance to dress up like fairy princesses, which of course we totally are! Rochelle and I had a great time playing with the Just Pretend Kids dress up outfits.
Did I mention that “Sweet Suite” was all about treats, candy, and cupcakes? There was sugary treats everywhere we turned.
If you know me, you know how much I LOVE zombies. Even before Walking Dead I was sort of strangely obsessed. Hello, seriously, I have an unusual obsession. Well when I turned the corner I saw these Walking Dead building sets.
And then I saw this guy. I mean my favorite is the hot sheriff but I am not going to say no to a dirty zombie killer that looks like this either.
From one strange obsession to another. Uncle Milton Toys had some great Frozen themed toys and wall lights. I have to admit that I do sometimes listen to the Frozen soundtrack when I am home alone. It is just so damn catchy!
Bees will buzz,
Kids will blow dandelion fuzz
And I’ll be doing whatever snow does in summer.
A drink in my hand,
My snow up against the burning sand
Probably getting gorgeously tanned in summer!!!!
(Please excuse my photos; some of them are blurry because apparently some PR/Brand reps can’t hold a camera or phone still while taking a picture. Whatever, we all have things that we are good and bad at doing…)
There really is just too much to even try to talk about! Here are some more of my favorite items that we played with over the course of the evening.
Squigz, from Fat Brain Toys. I would totally play with these on the windows of my car while driving cross-country.
Goldieblox was one of my favorites that I am actually ordering for my girls. Check them out! They are a great story/build toy for girls.
Bananagrams is an all time favorite but now they have a new set!
Care Bears is a flash back from my childhood. Everyone has their favorite! Which do you love?
Little Pim is a great way to help your little ones learn a second language.
We had an amazing evening playing with toys and visiting with other bloggers. I have so many more pictures but I just can’t add anymore here as this post is already getting too long! Sweet Suite was a great start to Blogger Bash! I can’t wait for next year!
Stay tuned for the next installment in my Blogger Bash Series: Angry Birds Stella After Party!

August 2, 2014 21:42I love attending events for bloggers. I’m thrilled for you that you ladies had such a blast. It looks like an awesome experience all the way! 🙂 Getting to chat with actual brand reps is always my favorite part as well as holding and trying out new products makes it easier for me to share about them with my fans.

August 2, 2014 22:22This was the best kind of conference. We got to meet one on one with the brands and actually have a few minutes to chat during the round tables so that they could get to know us one on one without having to be pushy and loud in a convention hall.
