This Week:

With school starting this past week we were very low key during the week. The kids were so tired by the end of the day that we never even went out to dinner! They would all eat and go right to bed. Adam told me that he was napping each night from 7:00 to 8:30 then getting back up to finish off his evening. At least he has a reason to be tired. Up at 6 am, school (including daily weightlifting class), cross country. I am tired just thinking about it.

On Thursday I took my normal once a week trip into “town” and walked around Target for two hours. I love doing this when the kids are in school. I feel like I can actually look at everything without being rushed. I tried on some clothes, bought a few things for my office and a couple of household items that we needed. I also indulged in my favorite once a week treat. Starbucks. Since the closest Starbucks is inside of Target I look at my Grande Iced Dirty Chai as a treat to be enjoyed as opposed to the once a day caffeine fix that it used to be.

Friday night we relented and took the girls to the county fair. It was as it sounds. A county fair. Do you remember how I feel about parades? I feel just about the same about fairs. We left after 2 hours $70 less rich but with two happy girls. I guess it was worth it. Whole fair post coming up next week.

Saturday was laundry, shopping, and making sure that everyone had everything that they needed for the week since I left for a work trip to Orlando on Tuesday.

Sunday was laundry, laundry, laundry. I had to get the kids completely set for the next 10 days worth of clothes, and you never know with kids.

Late Sunday night Lewis and I went to see Guardians Of The Galaxy. It was way better than I expected yet still predictable at the same time. Don’t get me wrong, I liked it, and I am totally going to see the next one when it comes out. I loved the “old” music that was throughout the film. If you like “old” music you need to check out the soundtrack!

Tuesday was a llloooonnnnnggggg day. I got up early, got the kids ready and sent them off to school, packed a suitcase and left for the airport. Remember when I was talking about going to Florida to work the Family Forward conference for work? Well the time had come to leave. My fight from Dulles left 45 minutes late that was taking me to Chicago. Luckily I had a 55 minute layover so I got to RUN from one side of the airport to the other side of the airport. I doing so I might have run up a down escalator because it was empty but at least I caught my flight! Once I got in I picked up the rental car and headed to the hotel. It is beautiful. Lots more on this next week after the adventure is over.

For the rest of the week the kids will be in school, Lewis will be working, and I will be in Florida working a conference at Universal. It is a tough gig, but somebody’s got to do it! Have a great week!
