ALEX’S MILLION MILE 2015: RUN -WALK – RIDE

ALSFsquare-747x800

We are about a third of the way through the month already! Have you been walking, running, or biking at all this month? Have you joined a team yet? If not join my sis-in-laws team and log all of your miles during the month of September. It’s free for you and there is NO fundraising minimum. But of course, any money raised is for a good cause!

You can run, walk or ride to help raise awareness for childhood cancer and funds for better treatments and cures. Alex’s Lemonade Stand‘s goal is to get everyone to log a total of 1 million miles and raise $1 million for childhood cancer research. Did you know that childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in the United States for children under 15? Did you know that every $40 raised funds an hour of research to help towards the cure?

  • Who can participate?

Anyone, anywhere can join and help fight childhood cancer.

  • Do I have to do this myself?

No, you can choose to participate individually or you can  join a team for added motivation.

  • How many miles do we have to complete?

There is no minimum, or maximum that you have to reach.  You can complete miles at your own pace all month long.  Every mile you log during September counts!

  • So, why one million miles?

One million miles is 40 times around the equator or two round-trips to the moon. But it’s less than five miles for each kid or adolescent who will be affected by childhood cancer this year, worldwide. Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children under the age of 15 in the United States.
