I LOVE to travel! I typically take my family & head out on at least 1 large trip a year – if not 2 or 3. This year happens to be my 20th wedding anniversary so the kids are staying home – unhappily I might add. To make up for their lack of “worldly travels” I decided to do a Summer Culinary Tour for them. This way they can experience the sounds, and tastes of other countries! Each week we will pick a different country & make a dish from that country. We will listen to fun music and enjoying facts about the local area (thanks to Alexa.) This week we did India and started with my favorite dish, Butter Chicken!

Of course I don’t have time to make EVERYTHING from scratch like some people so my meals from around the world are going to be sped up with the help of an awesome brand that I found in my local grocery store. While taking my weekly stroll up ad down the isles at my local store I got the idea for this blog series when I had some Culinary Tours products in my cart. I started looking around and realized that they had a bunch of products inspired by all of the countries that I want to highlight! I immediately knew this was something I could use to help make easy dinners for my family from across the world.
Culinary Tours is inspired by flavors from different cultures. You can find it at local, independently owned grocery stores (go here to find a grocer near you). This line is made for you, the culinary adventurer, seeking for the authentic food flavor of other places.
Delicious and Easy Butter Chicken
Butter chicken, also called Chicken Makhani, is my favorite Indian dish. It is so full of flavor. It can be made as mild or spicy as you want by adjusting adding more spice. Butter Chicken is full of fragrant spices like tumeric and garam masala. It is one of those meals that you can eat once a week and never get sick of having. Creamy, spicy, tomato-y, buttery, and saucy. It is seriously so delicious and a meal that your whole family will enjoy – at least mine did!
Delicious and Easy Butter Chicken
Butter Chicken is one of those meals that you can eat once a week and never get sick of having. Creamy, spicy, tomato-y, buttery, and saucy. It is seriously so delicious and a meal that your whole family will enjoy.
- 2 lbs raw chicken breasts or thighs (boneless and skinless)
- 1-2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 13.5 oz jar Culinary Tours Butter Chicken Sauce
- 3 cups cooked rice
- 6 pieces naan bread
- Cut chicken into 1 inch pieces (bite size), and season with a little salt and pepper.
- Heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat in a large pan.
-
Add the chicken to the pan and cook until done, stirring off and on. It will be about 10 minutes depending upon how big your chicken pieces are. Make sure chicken is cooked through all the way.
-
Turn heat down to low.
-
Add sauce and mix thoroughly. Warming for about 3-5 minutes.
-
Garnish with cilantro or other herbs that you enjoy.
Serve over rice and with naan on the side. Enjoy!
I serve this with rice and yummy naan bread. Make sure and follow our adventures as we travel through the world this summer on our culinary adventures with the help of Culinary Tours!
*This is NOT an authentic recipe. First, the obvious – I had help in the way of a jarred sauce. Hey, I am a mother of 4! I work full time, so yes, I need to make it easy! The chicken is not dry and does not have bones as a typical butter chicken might. All I know is that this recipe tastes delicious.
