Fit Made Fun Day
Saturday, September 6th was “Fit Made Fun Day” hosted by LeapFrog. To celebrate many children gathered in Santa Monica, California to try to break some Guinness World Records for the most number of kids doing an active play together at the same time. The theme of the activities was land/sea since the setting was in California. LeapFrog invited families from all over the country to participate in “Fit Made Fun Day” and host parties in their homes to help celebrate the launch of their new LeapBand.
We were so excited to participate in this event! We set up a whole healthy party feast for the girls to enjoy after their workout!
The kids and their friends were able to participate virtually and complete the Fit Made Fun Day activities and receive certificates. The three activities that the girls did in ten minutes increments were:
- 10 minutes of Snorkel Dance (freestyle swimming motions and wiggling of the body)
- Laying down in the grass and making “grass angels”. My girls pretended to do jumping jacks while laying down
- Following the Leader with the girls taking turns being the leader
They also had a fun laugh inducing game of leap frog!
It was such a hot day here in the east that we had to break up the 10 minute activities with water breaks and indoor time so that the kids could cool off.
LeapBand makes physical activity so much fun for the kids. It helps promote an active lifestyle and healthy habits by getting them up and moving. My youngest has only taken her’s off while at school and when sleeping since last week! She says that her LeapBand is her equivalent of my FitBit. The LeapBand allows your child access to a pet who they can workout with. The workouts are game based depending upon their level. The more the kids move, the more gems they get so they can unlock more games. The controls allow you to turn off activities and game play during the school day and wile the kids are sleeping. For more information you can read about it here.
After the workout the girls had fruit, cold water, and CLIF Kids protein bars for a snack. I had each of the girls take home a box of CLIF Kids to share with their family as well. I wanted to leave you with a delicious and refreshing drink recipe that you can try!
