This post was written and published on June 28, 2010. I am going to Vegas in less than a month so I have been looking back at my posts from previous trips, and will be featuring them on Flashback Friday. This one really shows the difference that 4 years can make as kids grow up. It is hard to believe that they were this little 4 years ago!
Day 1:
We rode in the car from Salt Lake to Nevada. We stopped in St. George for ice cream at the outlets and I did a little shopping, like 15 minutes worth. It was 104 and the kids were dying of heat. On to…
VEGAS BABY!!!
We got in, checked into the hotel and went to dinner. After dinner we went bowling with the kids. the hotel was amazing. It had a bowling alley, movie theater, and an awesome pool. We didn’t have a late night. We were so tired from traveling. Vegas sure is different when you have four kids with you.
Day 2:
Funny thing about day two. Lewis is missing. The minute we got to Vegas he started to feel sick and he literally spent one whole day and night in bed and in the bathroom vomiting!! Sick, I know! So as the wonderful mother that I am (cricket sounds) I felt that it was my duty to take the kids to have a great day, even though Lewis was down and out.
We managed to get breakfast, go swimming, and shower and get dressed without bugging the sick guy too much. We decided to head to the mall for lunch and some shopping just to give us something to do while Lewis slept. After shopping and eating I decided that it would be a good idea if I headed to the strip. Yes, I took 4 children to the strip alone!!! Luckily I have great kids that are well behaved. They wanted to go to the M&M store and do a little shopping. Then they wanted to walk through MGM to see the lions and to see what a casino looks like inside, but really I think they were just trying to get out of the heat. So we were able to do all of that and I didn’t lose anyone, and nobody got hurt. Win!
After we were done (more from the heat than from being bored) we headed back to the hotel to go back to the pool and swim some more. There really isn’t anything better to do when it is over 100 degrees than be in the pool.
After swimming the kids got dressed and ready for dinner.
After we had a busy day Lewis felt good enough to join us for dinner. we just went to Denny’s because it was close and I was tired after that day with the kids. It was a good beginning of the trip even though it was just me and the kids. Something always has to go wrong on vacation, right? At least it was just a 24 hour bug for Lewis and not something with the kids.
