What Do I Want To Be When I Grow Up?
I am still working on the answer to that question. Today I am supposed to write about my childhood dream job and what I do now. Growing up I had so many dreams of what I would become. There were so many things that I wanted to do.
I had several “dream jobs” when I was a kid.
1. I wanted to be a Laker Girl.
2. I wanted to be a Radio City Rockette!
3. I wanted to be a lawyer.
A Rockette and a lawyer? Yeah, my parents brought me up to believe that I could be anything! I was on the dance team in high school. I went to college and took classes to graduate with a degree in Political Science. Ha! Boy was I mistaken!
There are many “jobs” that I wanted when I was growing up and several that I did not want. I did not want to be:
- a cook
- a housekeeper
- a chauffeur
- a financial adviser
- a laundry lady
- a teacher
- a banker
- a professional organizer
- a mover
- a baker
- a personal chef
- a hair stylist
- a therapist
- a janitor
- a lifeguard
- daycare provider
Now that I am a grown up and a mother to four wonderful kids I realize that I became each and every one of those things that were on my “NOT TO-DO” list. But you know what? I wouldn’t change a thing.
What Do I Do Now?
1. I am a cook/baker:
2. I am a housekeeper/decorator/professional organizer:
3. I am a hair stylist:
Besides, I would have made a terrible lawyer.
